Is Blockchain keeping you awake at night? Understanding the risks.

The webinar will cover:
  • security and stability of blockchain and cryptocurrencies
  • the impact of blockchain on current and future laws and regulations relating to crime, sources of funds and data protection
  • are lawmakers catching up with blockchain technology and if so, where should the regulation lie? 
  • which authorities are currently regulating cryptocurrencies?
  • can gaming regulation be assisted by blockchain technology
  • 'smart contracts' - and how they work in an online gaming environment. 
Christina Thakor-Rankin, Principal Consultant, 1710 Gaming Ltd. will incorporate 'real life' examples wherever possible. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the presenter via a Question and Answer session during the webinar.

About the Speaker
Christina Thakor-Rankin

Christina has over 25 years’ experience in the betting, gaming and gambling industry. Starting out in the pre-dotcom era, she has a career spanning land, internet and mobile, cross all aspects of betting and gaming operations, holding senior roles with some of the world’s best known brands (such as William Hill and Virgin) and responsible for managing multiple business disciplines, functions and teams across a range of channels, products, customers, and jurisdictions, including regulatory compliance and money laundering.

She is Principal Consultant at 1710 Gaming Ltd working with start-ups, investors, established operators, regulators, law enforcement and industry groups across the world, advising on all aspects of the betting, gaming and gambling life-cycle – from market research and analysis, to licensing and compliance, products and marketing, project management and business strategy, to full operational set-up and customer engagement.

She remains an active Regulatory Compliance Officer and MLRO across a number of different jurisdictions, is a non-Executive Director and Board member, Co-Founder of the All-In Diversity Project, and regularly contributes to industry publications and events. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Politics, and a Master’s degree in Classics.
