 Dear IAGR
members,
Please find this reminder of the IAGR webinar which will take
place on June 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM (London time) and will explore the
following topic.

 Children in
Gambling: Using Regulation to Drive Parent Power
Parents are often told to talk to their children about the dangers of
drinking, smoking and drug taking, but how often are parents encouraged to
discuss gambling?   Tim Miller, Executive Director for Corporate Affairs and Research at the
Gambling Commission (United Kingdom), will discuss the Gambling Commission’s research that
shows more children gamble than become involved in any of those other
activities and that highlights the role that parents play in developing young
people’s attitudes towards gambling. He will explore how the Commission is moving
beyond a simple regulatory response to the relationship children have with
gambling and working to inform and engage parents on the issue of gambling
related harm.   The webinar will cover:
 Why regulators should recognise and
embrace their limitations; How working in partnership with parents
can increase regulatory impact; andThe importance of being a human being
as well as a regulator
