Subject: IAGR Conference 2014 – Greetings!

Dear fellow IAGR members,

Greetings! It was an honor and a great pleasure to see so many of you from all parts of the world at this year’s annual conference in the wonderful historic city of Philadelphia. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Philadelphia host jurisdiction, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and our outgoing President Peet Meng Lau who has done an outstanding job in putting together some wonderful days for us.

The topics for this year’s conference were wide-ranging and included panel discussions on bitcoins, problem gambling and internet gambling as well as a look on existing trends and the future of gaming. Please visit our website for the full programme where you will be able to access the presentations collected from the speakers.

I would also like to thank you, IAGR members, for taking an active part in our knowledge sharing group breakout sessions on match-fixing, e-Gambling, responsible gambling and land based gambling. I hope that you will carry on the discussions you may have had during these sessions on our portal, which you may access here. If you have any questions regarding a specific group please contact the appropriate coordinator – questions regarding access to the portal may be directed to Mariah Echele.

We have uploaded photos from the conference at www.iagr.org. Photos taken by TapSnap at the joint reception with IAGA at the Down Town Club can be found here.  Photos taken during the conference and city tour may be found here.

As announced during the Annual Members' Meeting, IAGR will convene in Lima, Peru next October 2015 for our first gathering in South America.  Preparations are already underway and details will be shared with the members as the venue and dates are finalized.

Lastly, I would like to welcome Mr. Bheki Mlambo, Chief Executive Officer, Mpumalanga Gambling Board as incoming Vice President. I am also happy to announce that Trude Felde, Senior Advisor from the Norwegian Gaming and Foundation Authority will remain as Secretary and Mariah Echele will continue working for the IAGR Secretariat.

Yours sincerely,
Birgitte Sand, President
