Last night, Unit 72 completed R-Night and entered Basic Training. As the recruits were welcomed into Basic, I asked them, "Who am I when situations are hard?" and "Who is life for?"

Our culture says that you are who life is all about. So you do what makes you the most happy. Find that perfect job that makes you feel like you'll never work another day in your life. Find the perfect person who will make you happy for the rest of your days. Find whatever makes you the happiest. However, in actuality, life isn't just about you. It is about serving the God who redeemed you, and who called you from death to life, and who is bringing His purpose to your life.

Please pray for the men of Unit 72 as they complete their first full day in Basic Training today. And keep them in prayer over the next nine weeks, that they would look above every difficulty and see and declare the goodness of God—the One who equips, sustains, and satisfies.
