Fortis in Arduis (Strong in Difficulties).

In order for someone to be strong through difficulty, one of the things they must have is proper training. In the ALERT Aquatics department, we train the men to be calm during discomfort or problems. We push them by running drills in water confidence that are mentally and physically strenuous. Problems can become life-threatening very quickly underwater, and even worse things can happen in the rest of life. So we train the men to be strong in difficulty, above and below the surface.

In the same way, ALERT isn’t here just to train men in skills, but to train them to be strong in spiritual difficulty as well. To learn the tactics the enemy uses against us, like discouragement and disunity, and how to combat that with the Word of God. I have recently been appreciating the importance of meditation on the Word of God in my own life. “I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD” Psalm 104:33-34 (ESV).

Striving for Christ,
