I have seen many types of men enter the program throughout my time at ALERT. There is the man who completes his training, and years later, he is still on the path he started here. Sadly, some men come to ALERT and appear to finish well, but when you meet them later in life, little of the man you thought him to be is still visible. So why the different outcomes?

Here at ALERT, we believe our training is insufficient to change a man's heart apart from the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter how much head knowledge one has; there is no real heart change without the working of Jesus. Paul the Apostle lived much of his life as a Pharisee. He had a lot of head knowledge regarding God, but it took an encounter with Christ himself to enable Paul to see the reality of his sin. That same encounter is necessary for each of us. My prayer for you as we draw closer to Christmas Day is that, through all of the traditions and holiday fun, the truth of Christ coming to earth to bring salvation would not be lost in all the noise.
