Subject: ALERT Alumni Update | July 2022

July 8, 2022

Dear Alumni,

I wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to write emails, visit the campus, or have phone conversations with us as we work on making connections, rebuilding relationships, and gaining perspective from our Alumni on our history. Thank you all for your continued investment into the program even now as we look to continually improve ALERT and ensure we are healthy and headed in a good direction. As G.K. Chesterton put it, "There are an infinity of angles at which one falls, only one at which one stands". I look forward to continuing to have these conversations with many of you in the months ahead. Again, please know that we always love hearing from our alumni, so if you're in the area, drop by to see us!

I wanted to give a shout-out to a few ALERT alumni who helped us out from a distance last month. Scott Shetler (Unit 28)  and Stephen Falkenstine (Unit 27) worked a bookfair for us in Oregon, and Isac Dymesich (Unit 19) helped Col. Behr out with Conqueror 101, our two-week summer program up in the Northwoods. Thanks for dusting off the old uniforms and helping us both "forge men" and spread awareness about the ALERT program!

Also, quick reminder to everyone that the next ALERT Reunion will be held here in Big Sandy on January 27-29, 2023. We will be celebrating our 29th year as an organization, and would love to see you here next January!

Stand strong!

Major Jesse Boulden | Unit 40

ALERT Commanding Officer
