This summer, Hot Metal has been gathering in living rooms, around campfires, and at breweries to explore new models of community and learn from congregations trying creative things. We’re wrestling honestly with what excites us and what scares us, and making space for some divine inspiration.

Hot Metal will provide the entree. You bring the sides and desserts. (Please no tree nuts.) If you can’t contribute a dish, please still contribute your presence. There will be enough.

If you’ve ever wondered what to do when the news feels overwhelming, this is one place to start. Every Friday, we choose to be present in a place where fear and uncertainty are very real. We gather outside the ICE office on the South Side with Casa San José and other faith communities to sing, to pray, and to remind all of Pittsburgh that our faith demands dignity for all people.

Get covered, get pancakes... Hot Metal is hosting a medical coverage enrollment event where neighbors can get free professional assistance enrolling in Medicaid and other health coverage with the help of Pennsylvania Health Law Project. And since it happens to be National Pancake Day, there will be a free breakfast, too! Volunteers can help with check-in or serving breakfast; especially let us know if you have an electric griddle to bring along. Email hotmetal@hotmetalbridge.com to volunteer.
