Sunday, May 31 @ Allegheny Commons Park West
Hot Metal is teaming up with LAMP (LGBTQIA+ Affirming Ministries of Pittsburgh) and there are two ways you can join the celebration:
Volunteer at the LAMP table. We recommend signing up for a 3:30, 4:45, or 6:15 volunteer spot. (Signup Form) A group of us will get lunch together after our service and arrive at Pride by 3:30, please join in!
Not the Sunday service type or hanging out in the diaspora? GREAT, we could use your help! LAMP will be marching in the parade at noon, which is hard to swing when you're a church. We'd love it if you would represent Hot Metal in the parade, line up on Liberty Avenue between 11th Street and 16th Street in The Strip before noon and look for the LAMP banner.
Saturday, June 29 @ 3-8 PM
The celebration continues in our own neighborhood! Save the date, more information to come. (There's rumors of new Hot Metal tshirts, so revel in that suspense.) It will be an opportunity to invite neighbors and new friends to our Pride service the next morning.
āļø Christian Nonviolence Small Group
Tomorrow, May 16 @ 7:00 pm
The Watsons' House: 2856 Hickory St. Bethel Park, Pa. 15102
Luke Watson is forming a community group focusing on Christian nonviolence. In Luke's words, "Why? For several reasons- Because so much currently feels outside of our control. Because I am angry and need a healthy and productive outlet for this anger. Because as I see it, practicing nonviolence is central to being a disciple of Jesus. Because the only way we are going to get through these times is together." The group will begin with discussion, evolve into study, and turn into collective action.
Gone are the days of needing a Spring Work Day to upkeep our building, so let's celebrate this new freedom with a day of nothing but play! We'll meet on the patio of Hazel Grove Brewing for yard games, board games, and fun with friends. Hazel Grove has nonalcoholic options on tap like root beer and Jackworth Ginger Beer, along with brews for grownups too.
