Intro

After pondering the Scripture passage for this week's worship gathering, the staff of Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community put together this spiritual formation kit for groups and individuals to use.

We hope that it will encourage transformation as you encounter God's voice in fresh ways through the Bible; connection as you talk and pray together; and interaction as the sermons become less of a Sunday morning monologue and more of a week-long community conversation.

Reflection Questions
Guide discussion with these questions or ask your own.
1) The main theme of this passage is a contrast between the false shepherds and the Good Shepherd. Who do you think the false shepherds were that Jesus referred to? Are there false shepherds now?

2) Jesus also warns about the thieves, strangers and hired hands. Have you ever experienced a thief who tried to steal/kill/destroy your faith? A stranger who tried to lead you away from faith? A hired hand who abandoned you when your faith was in danger? How did the experience change you?

3) Who are the "other sheep?" Why does Jesus seemed worried that they won't be accepted into the flock?

4) In contrast to those who want to steal, kill, and destroy, Jesus offers abundant life. Based on the rest of what Jesus says here, what do you think he means by abundant life?

5) In your life today, what can you do to follow Jesus into abundant life? How can you invite others to share in it?
