Subject: Cultivating God's Compassion

Five ways to plug in.
Cooks & Clean-up Crew // SUNDAYS
Every Sunday, we share the Lord's Supper and a freshly-prepared lunch. And every Sunday, God’s invisible grace is made visible to us in the form of full bellies and lively conversation. That’s communion. So cooking and cleaning up those meals are sacred work, and we need many workers! To learn more about what's involved check out Almost Everything You Need to Know About the Kitchen. Check out The Table Cookbook for large-yield recipes and menus. If you're feeling nervous about cooking a big meal, you can team up with a more experienced cook! To sign up, email mike@hotmetalbridge.com.

Care Closet
// drop-off SUN 9:30am-1pm or TUES & THUR 4:30-6:30pm // thru FEB 26
//  Because living outside takes its toll on your clothing, your shelter, and your body, we keep our Care Closet outfitted with supplies so folks can stock up after worship or during The Table. Throughout February we are collecting: small tents, tarps, backpacks, new underwear (men's and women's), and new or clean socks. Leave donations in the blue bin inside the parking lot entrance.

What the Health!?! // MON FEB 20 @7pm // main hall
Jesus said to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. In this monthly workshop we are exploring ways to integrate physical wellness with mental and spiritual wellness. This month we are learning about making fermented foods with a cooking demonstration. Please RSVP to Bonni at  padragonfly@hotmail.com.

Kintsugi: A Worship Experience for Better Mental Health // SUN FEB 12 @ 6pm // main hall
// Real talk about mental health and mental illness is still often taboo in our culture, especially in churches. But the Kintsugi service provides a unique space each month for people to connect their spiritual and mental health in the context of worship. Followed by a peer support group at 7pm. Cultivating God's Compassion // MAR 10-11 // Pittsburgh Theological Seminary //
As seekers of deeper spiritual lives, we desire to experience and to express God’s compassion in our daily walk. This two-day event with Janet K. Ruffing, Professor in the Practice of Spirituality and Ministerial Leadership at Yale Divinity School provides an opportunity to explore this desire more deeply. Friday’s presentation will consider the spiritual practice of Developing a Habit of Mercy and Recognizing Its Interruptions. Saturday’s workshop will explore how we Cultivate God’s Compassion for and in ourselves and bring that wisdom to fuller expression in our own lives, relationships, and ministries. Insights will be drawn from the work of Julian of Norwich, Meister Eckhart, and others. Register here: http://www.pts.edu/Compassion_2017. Contact mike@hotmetalbridge.com.
