Subject: 🏃‍♀️ Your Training is Ready

Hi Friend

I've planned out the next few weeks of training for you Annabel, but it may well change, depending on your answers to the questions I sent through earlier today.

I've included some basic strength workouts three days/week, but I'm sure you will have some stuff you are doing specific to your niggles which you can include in your strength sessions.

It might turn out that it works better to stick to three runs a week for this campaign, and make them 3 runs of a decent length. No matter how many runs you do, there's a limit to how much you should increase your workload over a short period of time, so including a 4th run might mean the duration of your other runs suffer. We'll just see how it all goes. You do have age on your side of course, so I don't need to be as conservative as I might be with some of my older athletes!

I'm estimating your easy run pace should be between 5:30 and 6mins/km - based on the gun time from Hussky. I have a feeling your time was 23 something though, so you can run closer to that 5:30 pace if that is the case.

Recording Your Training

You will need to sync your training device with your Hooked on Running training app. You will need to do so via the Strava App. It'll will take about 5 minutes. (If you use a Garmin you'll see that you can sync your Garmin account directly with our app, but I can dig down into the data better via Strava)

Create a Strava Account

  • Go to Strava.com and create a FREE account.

  • Click on the drop down box on the top right of screen next to your name and click on Settings

  • On the left hand menu, click on Privacy Controls, and set your privacy so that followers can see your activities and your profile. You can deny or allow requests to follow you, so that you can control who can see your activities. I will need to follow you to see your workout data.

Connect Strava to Hooked on Running

  • Log into your account

  • On the top right of the screen, click on the drop down box beside your name.

  • Click on Settings

  • Scroll down to connections, and connect to Strava

Connect Your Device to Strava

You can connect your Garmin with Strava by following these instructions

If you use an Apple Watch, this article will show you how to connect with Strava.

That is definitely enough information for now!

Please get in touch if you need any help at all. And if you could shoot through the answers to those other questions, that would help too.

Regards

Kirsten
