Position your tweeters on the outside. 

This will widen the stereo field, and is most likely going to give you the best sound.

Of course, it all comes down to preference, and can be influenced by your listening space. 

So it may be worth a try to try the tweeters on the inside, but it’s unlikely to sound better as it will likely result in smearing the stereo image.
