Does a small music studio owner need to learn how to delegate?

I taught piano for 16 years before deciding to focus full time on helping other teachers and music school owners.

It would not have been possible for me to do this without help.

I was a group piano teacher… teaching around 100 students by myself in my home.

Did I need to delegate?

No.

Did I delegate?

YES.

During the last five years my studio was still in business, I had a series of 20-somethings who ran the admin side of my business.

Eventually, I had them doing marketing for me, as well.

Hiring those admin and marketing assistants is what allowed me to show up to my job to teach… and not really have to worry about billing, late payments, announcements, marketing, parent emails, onboarding, offboarding, ordering books, and a whole other host of activities that might only take 5 minutes each but add up to a LOT OF TIME EVERY WEEK.

Time that I could have been spending with my young child. With my wife.

Time that I (eventually) used to build a 2nd business that FAR eclipsed my piano business in terms of impact and income.

The basic logic was that I would rather make $200+ dollars per hour teaching one more hour of group piano lessons… then spend that hour doing work that I could delegate to an admin for $15, $17, or $20/ hour.

This is what one of my mentors called “Climbing the 80/20 Curve”... and that is just one of the many concepts that we teach in the Founder’s Forum… our training program for studio and school owners.

Even if you own a small studio... I recommend coming to this webinar! We'll teach concepts that could greatly reduce the "boring" or repetitive parts of owning a studio.

And - if you own a mid-sized or large studio... and you struggle to let go or get your team to take responsibility...

You must come to this webinar.

The Forum begins on October 1st… but we’re giving a free preview of the content in our webinar on delegation next week.

We focus on equipping these entrepreneurs with the very best information as it pertains to growing and scaling a successful, profitable music school. We love to help people learn how to market and scale their local and online studios. We do this by showing them how to teach students in a group setting rather than providing a service that can't scale - so they can live a great life and make a great living at the same time.
