The idea is simple.
There are hundreds of things that need to happen to run a music school: marketing, billing, customer service, scheduling, hiring, teaching, cleaning, ordering supplies... even making sure there are paper towels in the break room.
You already know those jobs aren't equally valuable.
The problem is that when you don't trust other people to handle the small things, your time gets scattered across the entire curve.
One minute you're doing something worth $15 an hour. The next you're doing something worth $50. Then you finally get an hour to work on something that could be worth $500 an hour to the business.
Climbing the 80/20 Curve means starting at the bottom and systematically eliminating, automating or delegating the lowest-value work.
Every job you remove creates room to climb a little higher.
And this matters even if you own a small studio.
You might look at the curve and think, "I make $70 an hour teaching. Where am I supposed to find a $500-an-hour job inside my music school?"
But becoming great at marketing could be worth hundreds of dollars an hour.
The skill of finding and developing the right teacher could create tens of thousands of dollars in future revenue.
Building a system that prevents you from answering the same questions for the next five years could be worth even more.
We've watched members of the Founders Forum get better and better at these higher-level jobs… and grow studios from $5,000 a month to $20,000 a month.
We’ve seen schools grow from $20,000/month to $50,000, $70,000 and even $100,000+ a month.
But there's an obvious catch.
You can't climb very far if every attempt to delegate ends with the work landing right back on your desk.
That's why Nate and I are teaching a free webinar next Wednesday on how to delegate properly.
Whether you own a small studio or a large school with an established team, we'll show you:
How to spot the responsibilities you should get off your plate first… instead of randomly handing off tasks and hoping you've bought yourself more time.
The three things your team (or an assistant) needs before they can truly own an outcome… and the missing piece that causes delegated work to boomerang back to the owner.
How to train someone to make decisions without you so every unusual parent, teacher or administrative problem doesn't automatically become your problem.
A simple five-level "Decision Ladder" for gradually increasing someone's authority without handing them the keys before they're ready.
And we're going to have you actually use these concepts during the webinar.
By the end, you'll identify one responsibility you should stop owning, who could own it instead, and the first steps for beginning that transfer over the following 30 days.

If you want to spend more of your week doing the work that actually grows your school, you have to create a business capable of handling everything underneath you.
That's how you climb the curve.
Very best,
Daniel
PS> This is a free preview of what we’re teaching studio owners in the Founder’s Forum… our coaching program for music studio and music school owners that want to build a business that runs without them.
Last year, every single member of the program grew their school’s revenue significantly during the year.
In other words, the amount of revenue they gained FAR exceeded the small investment they made to work with us to MAKE that gain.
