The questions you ask as a music school owner change depending on where you are in the business.
At one stage, you’re trying to figure out how to get enough students.
Then you get the students... and suddenly you have a different set of problems.
You hire teachers. Add programs. Add space. Add staff. Make more money.
And every time the business grows, it seems to hand you a new question.
Questions like:
How do I get a consistent flow of leads?
Why are people inquiring but not enrolling?
How do I get more students to stay?
Are students leaving because of the product... or because parents don’t understand the value?
If 10 new students enrolled tomorrow, could we even handle them?
Do I need more space, or am I using my current space poorly?
Do I actually need another teacher?
How do I get my teachers to deliver a consistent experience?
Why am I still involved in every decision?
What should I delegate next?
How do I know whether the school is actually profitable?
Am I building a bigger business... or just a bigger job for myself?
What systems should I build next?
Of the 15 things I could fix right now, which one actually matters?
Some of these are questions a 50-student studio asks.
Some show up at 150 students.
Others don’t become obvious until you’re running a large school with a team, a facility, payroll, and a lot more money moving through the business.
And sometimes the hardest situation is when the school has already grown... but the systems underneath it haven’t grown with it.
This is why Nate and I created the Founder’s Forum…
It’s not about giving you more business information.
It’s about helping you figure out what needs to change NEXT... and then helping you make that change.
Over seven months, we work with you to:
Build a marketing and enrollment system that brings in enough of the right students to hit your growth goals
Keep more of the students you already have, so you’re not constantly replacing families just to maintain your enrollment
Know your numbers well enough to make decisions about pricing, payroll, hiring and growth without guessing
Build systems your team can actually follow, so the school runs consistently without everything having to go through you
Hire, manage and delegate more effectively, so adding employees actually removes work from your plate instead of creating more of it
Identify the handful of things that will have the biggest impact on your school—and stop wasting time fixing problems that aren’t actually holding you back
The goal is not simply to build a bigger music school.
It’s to build one that is more profitable, more predictable, and less dependent on you as it grows.
And we do this through a combination of personal and group mentorship, “done-with-you” work, and templates and systems that helped build Brooklyn Music Factory into a multi-million dollar school.
So whether you’re trying to turn a small studio into a larger school...
Or you already have a large school and you’re realizing some of the foundation underneath it needs to be rebuilt...
Founder’s Forum was designed to help you figure out what comes next.
The next cohort starts October 1st.
If you find yourself regularly asking some version of the questions above, I think we should talk.
Fill out the application and book a free call with me.
Even if you decide the Forum isn’t right for you, I’ll help you identify where you’re stuck and give you a roadmap for what I believe you should work on next.
