| Life's Greatest Adventure!

Last week we looked at the placement of Uranus at the time of your birth, as reflected in your birth chart. This week is the last of our articles on Uranus and we'll take a look at what it means when Uranus is transiting areas of your chart. First let's remind ourselves what we mean by transits. Transits are the area of your life where Uranus is currently 'transiting' (or passing through).

Now here's something important to remember: When Uranus transits an area of your chart, it isn't experienced in the same way by everyone. That's because we don't all experience planetary energies in the same way.
For example Uranus is said to be in 'dignity' when it is in Aquarius, which means the energy of Uranus is most free and uninhibited. Likewise Uranus is said to be in 'detriment' when it is in Leo, meaning the planetary energy is somehow repressed, or weakened, so the you may not be receptive to the full potential of it's energy.
How receptive you are to the planetary energy is conditioned by it's placement by sign and house in your birth chart. If you have Uranus in Aquarius you may therefore be highly receptive to its energy, and if you have Uranus in Leo you may not be so responsive to it's energy. (This also depends on other factors in your chart such as aspects etc.)
So how does that affect transits? Let's look at an example: if Uranus was in your 9th house, in Aquarius, when you were born, by now Uranus will be transiting your 6th or 7th house. You will carry the energy of a 9th house Aquarian Uranus throughout your life as part of your energetic signature, and during the current transit of Uranus through your 6th or 7th house you'll be transforming your health and well-being (6th house) or relationships (7th house) in a distinctly 9th house Aquarian Uranian manner!
So as you read on, remember that these are only general guidelines and, in determining the specific meaning for you, you must factor in the 'condition' of Uranus at the time of your birth plus, of course, all the other important factors in your chart (Rising Sign, Sun, Moon, etc). This is what makes you unique!
Having said that now let's look at the general character of Uranus. Transits of Uranus bring greater perception, insight and intuition. Esoterically Uranus is the 'father of archetypes'. So transits of Uranus bring us opportunities for expanded perception, so we may fully stand in our role as agents of evolution seeding the archetypes for a future humanity. By the actions we take during Uranus transits we sow the seeds, lay down the blueprint, and create the future for a new humanity.
When Uranus transits your…
1st House
…it is an opportunity for awakened self-perception. During a Uranus transit of your first house you may find yourself rebelling against others ideas of who you ought to be, as you expand your vision and perception of self. Your self-identity is being transformed by this transit.
2nd House
...it is an opportunity for awakened self-worth. During a Uranus transit of your second house you may find yourself questioning your values, self-worth, and your inner resources. Your self-value is being transformed by this transit.
3rd House
...it is an opportunity for awakened mind. During a Uranus transit of your third house you may find yourself communicating very differently. You may become more intuitive, more telepathic, and more aware of communion with your higher self. Your higher mind is being transformed by this transit.
4th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened connection to your roots. During a Uranus transit of your fourth house you may find yourself questioning your roots to include your current home and family, your family of origin and your ancestral lineage. You may become more aware of your connectedness to the human family as a whole and less tribal in your outlook. Your psychological roots are being transformed by this transit.
5th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened creativity. During a Uranus transit of your fifth house you may find yourself being more creative, or creating differently. You may become more attuned to what gives you pleasure, more playful, and more creative as you are awakened to your expanded nature as a creator being. Your awareness of, and capacity for, creative power is being transformed by this transit.
6th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened service. During a Uranus transit of your sixth house you may find your health, well-being and personal development getting more of your attention. You may become more interested in learning tools and techniques for self-development, and becoming more interested in how you can apply these to be in service to others. Your awareness of, and capacity for, service is being transformed by this transit.
7th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened relationship. During a Uranus transit of your seventh house you may find relationships on all levels are changing and getting more of your attention. You may experience sudden and unexpected changes as relationships that no longer serve your highest good may end or dramatically change and, likewise, new relationships may form equally suddenly and unexpectedly. Your awareness of, and capacity for, right relationship is being transformed by this transit.
8th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened personal power. During a Uranus transit of your eighth house you may find other people's resources, other people's money, joint finances, debt, taxes, loans and even sexual relationships are getting more of your attention. There could be sudden and unexpected gains or losses in joint finances and intimate relationships. You are being awakened to the dynamics of personal power and bonds in deep, intimate, relationships and joint financial agreements. Your awareness of, and capacity for, right use of will and power is being transformed by this transit.
9th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened wisdom. During a Uranus transit of your ninth house you may find higher learning getting more of your attention. You may experience sudden and unexpected changes as you seek spiritual knowledge, philosophy or higher education. This may involve unexpected travels to foreign lands or chance meetings with people from foreign cultures. Your higher wisdom is being transformed by this transit.
10th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened aspirations. During a Uranus transit of your tenth house you may find your career and/or position in the world getting more of your attention. You may experience sudden and unexpected changes as you awaken to a more spiritual role in the world. This may involve unexpected changes in your career, or of your status in your community. Your spiritual ambition is being transformed by this transit.
11th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened group consciousness. During a Uranus transit of your eleventh house you may find yourself more involved in groups or communities of like-minded people. You may experience sudden and unexpected changes in your friends and social networks as you connect more with people who share your hopes, dreams, wishes and visions for the future of humanity. Your connection to the collective consciousness is being transformed by this transit.
12th House
…it is an opportunity for awakened unity consciousness. During a Uranus transit of your twelfth house you may find your inner world getting more and more of your attention. You may suddenly and unexpectedly find yourself meditating more, and/or being drawn to spiritual paths that allow you to have transcendental experiences of oneness and bliss. You may even experience flashes of insight into the nature of God and the Universe. Your ultimate connection to Universal Love is being transformed by this transit.
