Sad News

I am so deeply sorry to inform all of our loyal readers and fans that Jane Straus passed away on February 25, 2011. For the past two years Jane waged a heroic battle with brain cancer. Unfortunately, medical science only has treatments but no cure for this disease. That did not deter Jane, though, from continuing to be fully dedicated to her family, friends, and her GrammarBook.com readership right up until the end.

I have assisted Jane in every area of the Web site over the past six years. I want you to know that I am committed to maintaining the high standards that Jane set and insisted upon for all aspects of her Web site whether it be the weekly E-Newsletters, the free and subscription quiz services, or the blogs; indeed, the entire content of GrammarBook.com. Some readers may have noticed that Jane was unable to answer blog inquiries during the last couple months. I will soon bring on additional expertise to allow us to catch up on and respond to all of your questions and comments. We also will continue to add new quizzes to supplement the hundreds of quizzes already available.

Next week, we will return to the regular E-Newsletter format with all the contents you are used to seeing including a grammar tip, practice quiz, and wordplay.

Again, I am so sorry to bring you this news. Jane and I talked about this eventuality and she wanted The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation and the GrammarBook.com Web site to survive and flourish in order to serve anyone and everyone seeking to improve English grammar and punctuation skills. I, along with the skilled staff of our web master, Weblinx Inc., will ensure that Jane’s legacy lives on.

Yours sincerely,
Lester Kaufman, Jane’s husband of 23 years
