How One Risky Road Trip Led Me to Love |
| In 1974, I was stuck.
My music dreams in Minneapolis had faded, my days felt the same, and I couldn’t see a path forward. Then one unexpected conversation—and a crazy idea—changed everything.
I decided to leave it all behind and ride a bicycle to California. No phone. No safety net. Just a Fuji bike, a friend, and 100 miles a day into the unknown.
Along the way there were freezing Nebraska nights, a terrifying downhill run over Rabbit Ears Pass, and moments where it would’ve been easier to turn back. But that risky ride didn’t just get me to California…
It led me to the woman who would become my wife, a new family, and a whole new life I never could’ve scripted.
Sometimes one bold step of faith can rewrite your entire story.
I’d love to share that journey with you.
