Let me take a little detour today... |
| Over the past several weeks, I've shared a lot of thoughts with you about business, community, and building something that lasts.
Today, I'd like to take a little detour.
This past weekend, I finished something that's very personal to me.
It's a music video for a song from my Gravel Roads album called "Lovely Lady."
The song takes me all the way back to 1975—and to one particular evening that changed the direction of my life.
That's the night Christine and I really connected.
We had met briefly before, but it was at a private party in the Hollywood Hills that something clicked. A conversation became a connection... a connection became a romance... and eventually that romance became a marriage and a lifetime together.
I wrote "Lovely Lady" to capture some of those memories, and with today's technology I was able to do something I never imagined possible when I first started writing songs—bring that moment in time back to life visually.
Of course, it's not a documentary. Some creative liberties were taken along the way!
But the people, the feeling, and most importantly, the story behind it are very real.
And I'd love to share it with you.

Maybe there's a little business lesson hiding in here after all.
We spend so much of our lives wondering what's coming next...
But every once in a while, it's worth looking back and remembering the moments that quietly changed everything.
For me, this was one of them.
