Truth Unmuted: Exploring Inconvenient Truths

The Ukraine-Russia war is sending shock waves that can be felt across the global food supply chain. Even far from the conflict zone, Indonesia’s lower income population is reeling from the soaring prices of cooking oil. Supply concerns for maize and wheat are putting pressure on the demand for rice, the effect of which can be felt in Asia.

Once again, in the aftermath of the pandemic, countries are rethinking their food security strategies. Will the implementation of better future-proof agricultural practices be delayed, as some say? Are GMO crops the solution, notably to reduce the use of pesticides – another input hardly impacted by the crisis? And talking about pesticides, is organic food safer?

And now, more than ever, we are committed to debunking the myths and unearthing inconvenient truths.
