The word 'resilience' has been pushed around a fair bit in the past year. But it is the most appropriate description of the character we saw in abundance in this year's startup applicants for the Future Food Asia Award.

Each year a shortlist of startups pitch at the FFA conference, as they compete for the title of 'Winner of the Future Food Asia Award' and the grand prize of US$100,000. Now in its 5th year, FFA continues to deliver on its promise of providing a platform for agrifoodtech entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations that are enabling a brighter food future for Asia.

The year witnessed not only a 24% increase in volume, but also a remarkable rise in quality of applicants. And after months of application review and jury assessment sessions, the much-awaited Future Food Asia Award startup finalist list is ready.
