November Newsletter
Hard to believe it is Thanksgiving time again.

It is that awkward moment for many of us when we try and slow down and appreciate the cultural opportunity to express gratitude, share family time and open our homes to friends while acknowledging the historical shame of colonization, land-seizing, genocide and culture destroying that precipitated the day we call "Thanksgiving."

Let's share of moment of awkwardness.

There is a wild turkey on the loose in New London. We sincerely hope she makes it through the next week!

FRESH MEMBERSHIP! You are Part of Our Work, Please Formally Join!
Our Annual Gathering was about Membership! But it doesn't stop there. We need you to move from being recipients of a newsletter to members of a movement.

Earlier this year, FRESH launched a membership drive to connect all of the people who relate to, rely on and support our mission and vision.

That is all of you who read this newsletter. But you do more than that, and we want to know about it!

So, we made up this handy dandy google form where you input your information. Please take a few minutes and fill it out. And for your time, we'll send you a "Membership Card!" Thanks!
WELCOME, FOOD FELLOW MICHELLE CRUZ!

FRESH is really happy to welcome Michelle Cruz to Southern Connecticut as the Food Fellow! A round of applause.

Michelle brings a wealth of experience to the work, including food hub work with Farm Fresh Rhodes Island. She co-founded a group called Urban FACTs which host dinners built around great food and intensive and fun conversations about agriculture. And, among other things, she writes for The Black Forks, a website that explores food and culture through a Black Lens.

Her Food Fellow email address is sectfoodfellow@gmail.com.

Keep an eye out for the Setting the Table dinners series starting in January. There will be lots of ways for you to get connected and eat very well as you contribute to a collective understand of food security and food justice.
