Friends of the Middle River (FOMR) invites you to a tour of a local regenerative farm right here on Middle River! 1Tribe Farm is a wellness retreat and farm. They are one of the participating landowners in FOMR's River Access Program, a Sponsor of our summer events, and they will be bringing their mobile food operation to Earth Day Staunton this month. We have arranged a farm tour for FOMR members to see what they are all about!
When: Tuesday, May 10, 3-4pm Where: 877 Todd Road, Mount Sidney, VA 24467 (Rain Date: Wednesday, May 11, 3-4pm)
Space is limited. We will do some carpooling to various parts of the farm, so bring face masks so you can ride with others. And, to stock up on local goods , there is a farm store with a variety of meats, sauces, honey, and more!
From their website: "Through careful land stewardship and collaboration with animals, we’re leveraging natural design to: add an abundance of organic matter and nutrients to the soil, support an increasingly diverse ecosystem of plant and animal life, sequester harmful carbon out of the air, and replenish our natural aquifers. By supporting 1Tribe, you help us strengthen the resilience of our community. Come, truly get to know your food–where it comes from, how it was raised, and how we're healing the land with mindful management and collaboration with our animals."
