Subject: 🥵 Important River Access Change 🥵

Loss of Verona River Access

Sadly, we inform you that effective immediately we are discontinuing our River Access Program at the upstream corner of Route 11 and Bald Rock Rd. The property has been sold, which terminates our lease. If arrangements can ever be made for use again in the future with the new landowner, we will inform you.

Please do not use 29.5 at the Verona Bridge for any reason. It now could be considered trespassing to be on the property.

We are well aware that this was a much-loved and easy-to-use site for the community, so it is a loss.

For those of you interested in canoeing or kayaking, FOMR does still have other properties in our full River Access Program. But unlike the now former Verona site, these other properties are not available for picnicking, swimming or bank fishing. They are just put-in and take-out sites for boats. If joining that program interests you, contact Kate at info@friendsofthemiddleriver.org to schedule a short phone call to go over the rules and procedures for that program.

We are sorry to be the bearer of sad news. Thank you for your interest in Friends of the Middle River.
