In October 2018, WWF published the 10th edition of its bi-annual Living Planet Report, indicating that biodiversity has declined by over 60% in the last 40 years. The report attributes this decline mostly to human, rather than natural causes. For the first time in history, human beings have had such a powerful impact on the planet. In our incessant quest for more land for logging, mining, big infrastructure, agriculture, we have overexploited nature and its re- sources to meet ever-increasing human consumption.
