Subject: This was me... 20 years ago.

Hi Friend,

15-20 years ago I knew NOTHING about good nutrition.

I counted calories obsessively.

I focused on low calorie foods rather than nutrient dense foods.

I’d weigh out my breakfast cereal every morning so it hit 300 calories EXACTLY.

Lunch would often be a Boots meal deal... a ‘Count on us’ style low calorie chicken wrap with a packet of Quavers (less than 100 cals per pack) and a bottle of Diet Coke (zero guilt of course).

Dinner would often be tinned tomatoes on two pieces of toast(no butter) with a squeeze of brown sauce.

(No joke).

I felt like I was in prison.

EVERY DAMN DAY.

The future looked pretty rubbish.

Was this how my life was always going to be, day in day out????
Thing is, we all have to start somewhere, don’t we?

We’ve all faced struggles of some sort.

As personal trainers, maybe you’ve had your own struggles with food / nutrition?

Maybe some of you still have ongoing struggles.

The same will be true for many of your clients.

As personal trainers or coaches, it’s so important that we do our best to approach our clients with integrity and care.

We need to remember that they are on a journey.

Of course, we all want the best for our clients. We want them to do well, and a large part of that relies on them eating well.

And it can be very frustrating when clients slip up…

Dip into old habits…

Or don’t admit to the treats they’ve been secretly eating.

Weeks can go by and the results don’t show.

And it can be all too easy to criticise clients for making the wrong nutrition choices.

But this is only going to push them away.

As personal trainers, we need to help our clients find nutrition solutions that are manageable and enjoyable.

Adherence is KEY to results.

We also need to give them guidance and education from a trusted source.

Without these things, clients can look to quick fixes rather than long term, manageable solutions.

They can follow the wrong advice, or become confused about what is right and wrong.

(Just like the old me used to be!)

When clients start getting great results….

You’ll start seeing these things in your fitness business…

>>> More referrals / recommendations
>>> Better client retention
>>> A confidence boost to you (and your clients)
>>> A lot less stress for you

If you need any help providing nutrition solutions for your clients - which they can stick to and enjoy -  just ask.

It’s what we’re here for.

Best wishes

Naomi
