Hi Friend
As adults, we make dumb decisions all the time.
We know we need to be up early in the morning for work …
… yet we decide to have “one extra drink” when out with friends and don’t get home til late, leaving us exhausted the next day.
Or we decide we need to quit drinking, smoking, or watching hours of Netflix …
… then the next time we’re stressed, what do we do?
Yep - Turn to booze, junk food, or binge-watch an entire season.
We tell ourselves we’re going to be good with our diet and lose a few pounds…
… only to pick the biggest, greasiest cheeseburger with extra large dirty fries when we’re at a restaurant.
Like I say, we all make decisions like this.
But these are perfect examples of prioritising short-term thinking over long-term thinking.
We choose the thing that makes us feel good in the moment, rather than the thing that’s going to make us happier long-term.
Why?
Well, because sitting on the couch, eating ice cream, or endlessly scrolling Facebook feels good. It’s easy.
But going for a run, eating some broccoli, or reading a book requires more effort.
The trouble is, when we make these short-term decisions, we’re saying to ourselves:
“I want to have a better day today, at the cost of tomorrow.”
As a fitness professional, you’re equipped with the tools, tricks and knowledge to recover from making any rash short-term decisions…
Usually quite quickly.
Your clients, however…probably aren’t as knowledgeable. Which is likely the reason why they’re working with you in the first place.
So how do you stop your clients from making short-term decisions when they’re eating out?
The same decisions that cause them to not make the progress they’re looking to make. The lack of progress which they then blame you for.
You give them what they need.
They need the same level of knowledge you have in your head. But sharing the years of knowledge and expertise you’ve amassed over the years is no easy feat.
So give them the same info they’re going to want—especially during the busy social months of summer.
The Eating-out guide is the perfect bonus for every program or package you sell in the coming months.
A small investment to get more people signed up with you. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.
