Subject: 119.5 seconds

Hi Friend

119.5 seconds.

That’s how long it takes to pour the perfect pint of Guinness.

(I have another story about this which I’ll share another time).

And while most Guinness drinkers are quite happy to wait for almost 2 minutes for their pint...

To help boost sales. The makers of Guinness created an advertising campaign sharing a message of patience.

They wanted to overcome negative customer opinions... and get bartenders back on board with the theatre of a pint of Guinness.

You had old men sea swimming against a “clock” of a pint of Guinness. Trying to get to the bar of his brother's pub as the pint settled ready to enjoy a rewarding first sip.

And horses running through the ocean as a surfer waited patiently for a perfect wave.

Waiting is probably something you were taught in school. Be polite, and patient and wait your turn.

And for the most part, this is true (especially being polite).

But when it comes to your business. Waiting can be a crux.

Waiting can lull you into a false sense of security. And if you’re not careful, it will lead you on a road to nowhere.

So today I’m here to tell you to stop waiting.

Stop waiting for tomorrow.

Stop waiting for that project to be finished.

Stop waiting for the right time.

Stop waiting for an election or the Government to change.

Stop waiting for permission or reassurance.

Stop waiting for a miracle or a sign.

Start.

Now.

Today.

As Geoffrey Chaucer said, “Time and Tide wait for no man”.

If you need any help, reach out. I may know the person you need right now.

Best wishes,

Naomi.
