Subject: With All Your Heart

Dear Families,

Peter Magnuson grew up in a Christian home, challenged as a young man to seek the Lord. He was attending conferences in Knoxville, running around with the other boys in the ALERT Cadet Challenges, and learning along with his family the truths of God’s Word.

Today, married and with small children, Peter has followed in the footsteps of his father, Roger Magnuson, in pastoring the church he grew up in and working as an attorney. Despite the tendency of many in our generation to depart from the faith of their parents, Peter has continued to trust in the Lord. As his message has deepened, God has widened his ministry through preaching and teaching the Scriptures.

This message was recorded during our 2020 Family Conference season. We are excited to have Peter joining us at this year's Northwoods June Family Conference!

The coronavirus pandemic, winter storms, and political upheaval are some of the things that have been in the headlines recently. In the midst of these challenges and difficulties, it can be tempting to focus on the challenges instead of looking to the Lord and trusting Him. In this Message of the Month, Peter Magnuson explains what it is to trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Peter illustrates his main point with examples from a visit to Chick-Fil-A, skydiving, and the disciples sailing the stormy sea with Jesus. His final illustration about an outing with his two young children is a touching example of complete, childlike faith and trust.

May the Lord use Peter’s message from Proverbs 3:5–6 to remind us that God desires whole-hearted trust—full devotion of one's mind, will, and emotions to the trust of God.
