Oftentimes, the devil tries to trick us into believing that our hidden sin won’t have consequences. Yet, what we often fail to realize is that our sin will affect not only us, but those around us! God’s Word declares, “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known” (Luke 12:2).

In this Message of the Month titled “What Is Under Your Tent?” Gabriel Cleator shares the severe consequences of hidden sin as revealed in the accounts of Achan and of King David. Both of their testimonies in Scripture illustrate how lust—the burning desire for something outside the bounds of what God has for us—leads to sin and death. The thought that merely considers sinful lust in our minds, if not taken captive in obedience to Jesus, will surely result in sinful actions and attitudes. And these bring on after-effects that never seemed to be possible when it was merely a selfish thought.
