Dear Families,

Gather around for story time with a modern-day “hero of the faith”—Otto Koning! This month, we are excited to share The Dutch Boy Story. While many of us know about Otto Koning’s adventures with tribes in New Guinea, this film takes us back several decades to Holland, where Otto grew up during World War II.

Listen as Otto shares about his childhood experiences of ducking into underground shelters while planes bombed his city, secretly carrying meals to Jews in hiding, and struggling to survive the cold and starvation that were devastating his country. He shares, “We were faced with a war where we needed God desperately.” However, while Otto longed to know how he could get to Heaven after he died, no one in his family, neighborhood, or church could tell him.

In this special part of the Legacy of Faith series, follow Otto in his search for salvation and his discovery of what it really means to “receive Jesus Christ.” What Otto came to find began a transformation in him that would affect people around the world!
In Christ,

David Waller
