Dear Families,

For our August Message of the Month, Pastor Johnny Pope brings us a powerful message that is titled “Revival Through the Power of the Cross.”

True revival begins at the cross. This message reminds us that Jesus not only paid the price for the penalty of our sins on the cross, but it was there that He also delivered us from the power that sin had over our lives. This truth is summed up in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Revival comes as we daily yield to Christ and allow His Spirit to transform us. Only then can we walk in the freedom, hope, and newness of life that He gives.

The devil wants Christians to believe the lie that they can never change and that they will always be in bondage to sin. However, praise the Lord! We have the same power in us that raised Jesus from the dead! Because Christ has defeated sin, we can live in victory through Him, not just someday but today! Pastor Pope urges us to know the truth, because the truth will set us free.
