Subject: Rejoicing in Affliction

Dear Families,

For many people, the last several months have been filled with affliction. Some have experienced physical infirmities. Others are dealing with financial pressures. In some homes and workplaces, people are facing relational difficulties. As you hear daily of things that you may never have dreamed would be possible or happening, have you found the strength to rejoice in afflictions?

In this Message of the Month, Aaron Baker shares his testimony of coming to accept a fuller understanding of God and His ways. Having gone through a life-threatening medical challenge, he testifies that God can cause grace to abound to us in the midst of weakness and affliction. Paul had a thorn in the flesh, and God said His grace was sufficient for Paul's affliction. Is the same grace sufficient for us in our physical lives? Will we, too, testify that ailments and afflictions help weed out our human pride and replace it with a power that comes solely from the Lord?
