Subject: God Will Make A Way

Dear Families,

One day, when David Gibbs Jr. was a young boy, he watched his mother sit down on the couch because she was feeling ill. Little did he know that it would be two years before he would see her again!

What had begun as an ordinary day had ended with Mrs. Gibbs in the hospital fighting for her life. As he tells in this gripping story, his mother had contracted polio, a disabling and often deadly disease. As a result, life changed for them as a family ever after.

In the midst of what became a life of pain and suffering with polio, Mrs. Gibbs taught her young son three crucial aspects of dwelling in the “secret place” described in Psalm 91. “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday" (Psalm 91:5-6).

As she openly lived with her disease in the “secret place,” the answer to her simple prayer and God's overwhelming response became a ministry that directly reached more than 5,000 people in their community. After her death, people estimated that more than 80 pastors and 200 missionaries resulted from Mrs. Gibbs's ministry. Through her life, God accomplished impossible things!

In 2020, a young Russian man was touched by this story, and he worked to translate it into Russian for his people. It quickly became the most-viewed message on our YouTube channel. Earlier this year, the message had around 36,000 views. In the weeks following the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the number of views has almost doubled.

We pray that this message, "God Will Make a Way," will encourage you as you encounter life's challenges. May you learn to live in the "secret place of the most High"! Please share this message of endurance, courage, and unwavering trust in God with others, especially those experiencing difficult and trying times, so that they, too, may discover that “secret place.”

In Christ,
