Dear Families,
July 4th marks a special day in American history. The family picnics, parades, and fireworks all are fun ways to celebrate and enjoy freedom. More than that we should remember that this freedom was not free–patriots purchased it with their sweat and blood. The phrase says it well: All gave some and some gave all.
The greatest blessing we have is the freedom from God to worship Him, obey His Word, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One of our greatest responsibilities is to keep and defend this freedom.
Today, the nation that we love is under attack. The attack is not so much from outside forces, but from the moral decay and societal regression that now permeates our culture. In times of unrest and uncertainty, opportunity abounds. Those with a devious plan use the opportunity for their end goals. Fear of the unrest and its consequences can be a tool to further their agenda, gain control, and overthrow our core values. As Christians, it is a wonderful opportunity to shine as lights in our world.
