Subject: An Evening with "Hudson Taylor"

Dear Families,

Many of us are familiar with the story of Hudson Taylor, missionary to China. Perhaps you even were in attendance and remember “Hudson Taylor” sharing his life story at the Big Sandy Spring Family Conference last April. If you missed it, here’s your opportunity to hear from the missionary! In a story fit for children and adults alike, relive the scenes, familiar to some and unfamilar to others, from the life of this great missionary pioneer.

In this Message of the Month, missionary Dean Kershner presents Hudson Taylor’s story in a personal dramatization that captures the attention of us all. Learn how Hudson Taylor’s mother, from the time he was a young boy, prayed that God would prepare her son to share the Gospel with those who had never heard it. Hear how, once Hudson caught that vision, he began to prepare himself physically, mentally, and spiritually to spend his life for Christ on the mission field in China. However, Hudson would discover that his preparations before going to China did not prepare him for what he would experience after he arrived, especially with other missionaries.

On a cold February evening, make some hot chocolate and gather your family together to enjoy this intriguing and informative portrayal of Hudson Taylor’s life story! We trust it will encourage and challenge you as you seek to share the love of Christ with those around you.

In Christ,
