| | Happy Father’s Day! The role of parents in the lives of their children cannot be overemphasized. On this Father’s Day weekend we celebrate the vital role that fathers have in the lives of their families. Scripture says, “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:6).

| | I have wonderful memories of the special times that I have enjoyed with my dad when he set aside time to spend with me. Being the fifth of ten children, our family had plenty of needs and situations vying for his attention. However, I am so grateful for the summer days that he would invite me to help him paint the garage door or tar the driveway – not so much to get the job done, but to spend time with me. There were so many fun times when my dad took us children on a bike ride or wrestled with us on our carpeted living room floor. I am so grateful for those times! |
| | Now I am a dad to three small children, and I find it so special to do those same types of things with my children. My heart is thrilled when I hear the cherished words at our family Bible time, “Daddy, can I sit next to you?” or “I love you, Daddy” as I tuck them into bed. Over the years the question has been posed: “Is it quantity time or quality time that matters most?” The truth is, none of us know how much time we will have with our precious children. It is important that we invest each moment as if it were our last. |

One conference will be held in Sacramento, California, July 4-8, and the other conference will be in Green Lake, Wisconsin, September 5-9.
