Subject: Open call for EUROPARC's Youth Representative! 👏

Dear members,

EUROPARC is committed to providing a place and opportunities for young people within our organisation.

With the approval of the new EUROPARC Strategy to 2030 and the newly elected council in November 2021, we aim to better integrate the views of youth in the governance of the organisation and to further inspire Protected Areas to do so as well.

Therefore, we are now looking for a new Youth Representative to join the EUROPARC Council!

The Youth Representative will be a coopted member of the EUROPARC Council. As such, they will have the same rights, duties and responsibilities - other than voting. Their task will be to bring specific insights to the Council on youth related matters relevant for the work of Protected Areas and provide constructive advice on Council work and Federation strategy and priorities.

The new youth representative must:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years old

  • Be active in a Protected Area that is a member of the EUROPARC Federation, either through volunteering, the Junior Ranger/Youth+ programmes or the Youth Manifesto - or equivalent.

  • Share EUROPARC’s mission, vision and values and have strong motivation to contribute to achieve the objectives of the Federation.

  • Be fluent in English

  • Be able to commit to 1 online meeting per month and 2 live meetings per year over the course of the 3 year mandate (till October 2024).

Does this apply to you? Or do you know someone that would be a perfect fit? Then please fill out the application form and send it together with your CV to esther.bossink@europarc.org until the 17th of December 13:00 CET.

Please carefully read the terms of reference:

before filling out the application form.

We invite you to share this information with your Junior Rangers, Youth+ members or youth representative boards. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to esther.bossink@europarc.org.
