Dear EUROPARC members,

As for most of us we are deep on the throes of Spring, with its influx of visitors, animal, plant and human! But I hope you can find a few minutes to catch up with your colleagues across the EUROPARC network with some news and information.

The Annual Report 2017 gives you an overview of how we are working together to ensure support, and promote the work of our Protected Areas .

But whilst I have your attention, I have some advanced news about this year’s conference and general assembly.

EUROPARC General Assembly 2018
18th September, Aviemore, Scotland

The General Assembly is the most important meeting of the year and its where members come together to give your ideas and inputs in how you want YOUR Federation to operate.

We will off course report to you the work we have undertaken on your behalf, but importantly too we want to hear your views. 

This year’s General Assembly will be held in the MacDonald Highland Hotel, Aviemore, Scotland, on September 18th at 15.00
We warmly invite you to attend. 

If you have any item you wish the general assembly to address, or have suggestions or inputs for the agenda, please send your requests to the Directorate at members@europarc.org. 
The deadline to send any request for items to be included in the General Assembly is 20th June.

All information, invitation and details about the General Assembly will be sent to you through July and August.

EUROPARC CONFERENCE 2018
18 - 21 September, Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

Off course the General Assembly is an integral part of the EUROPARC conference. This year hosted in the spectacular Cairngorms National Park. Very relevant to the future of parks and protected areas and indeed rural areas is how we retain and sustain young people not just to be advocates for protected areas but living working learning part of rural life. This will be the theme of our conference- European Parks – Inspired by the Next Generation!

With an impressive line-up of international speakers and an intensive workshop programme- there is bound to be a topic, or indeed several that are important to your work. So come to Scotland network and learn from your colleagues across Europe.

We VERY MUCH encourage all members to bring a young person from their areas with them on a special discounted rate. A parallel programme for young people will be held during the conference.

As you are making plans to come to Scotland ... no trip would be complete without a visit to a whisky distillery. A special EUROPARC tour has been organised for Saturday 22nd September.
