Many Christian men who deal with strong sexual temptation are probably familiar with techniques such as “bouncing their eyes” when a pretty woman comes into view or snapping a rubber band on their wrist when their mind wanders into lustful thinking. These techniques are based on a psychotherapeutic treatment method called “behavior modification,” and Christian psychologists have often taught that by using these techniques, men can learn to respond to sexual temptation differently than they have in the past. But is this how Scripture teaches us to deal with sexual sin? Or does it have something different to say? That’s what we’ll be tackling in our second episode of Pure Life LIVE on Saturday, August 3rd at 12 PM EST.
During this event, we’ll talk about: Where our behavior comes from Why God places such an emphasis on the human heart What Scriptures teaches about how we actually change Why techniques like “bouncing the eyes” fall short of God’s plan for transformation
