In my recent book, Walking in Truth in a World of Lies, I discuss the overwhelming opposition to truth we are witnessing—not just in the world, but in the church. How else can the multitude of professing Christians living in habitual sexual sin be explained?
For over 30 years we here at Pure Life Ministries have faithfully counseled thousands of such individuals. The only anecdote for someone who is deceived is the truth! This is why our counseling programs are founded on the Word of God. Many of you are living testimonies of God’s power to break the chains of darkness through the truth of His Word.
However, in the day and age we are living in, the enemy has effectively cast doubt on Scripture in the hearts and minds of believers. As a result, many Christians have turned to secular sources for help with their problems. Ever since the Garden, the enemy has worked tirelessly to destroy the faith of God’s people by questioning and attacking His promises.
In the last two verses of Martin Luther’s famous hymn, A Mighty Fortress is our God, he penned,

| And though this world with devils filled should threaten to undo us We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure One little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly pow’rs, no thanks to them, abideth The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him who with us sideth Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also The body they may kill; God’s truth abideth still His kingdom is forever. |
| In the last letter, I mentioned a new building project our Maintenance Team began in July to add five additional counseling offices to our residential campus. They have done an excellent job and Phase One is just about complete! So far, we have seen an excellent response from our ministry partners and at the writing of this letter, we are nearly half-way to meeting our goal of $65,000! Any funds received beyond our Phase One goal will be allocated towards Phase Two, which we hope to start in January 2021.

As 2020 comes to a close, we praise God for His faithfulness to us in what has been a year of great turmoil, confusion, and violence. It would be good to be reminded of what the writer of Hebrews said: |
| “At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.’ This phrase, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:26-29)

| Despite the growing darkness all around us, we hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas and New Year. We pray that you will know God’s nearness and His awesome presence during the days ahead. “But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works.” (Psalm 73:28)
