Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in whom, as Paul reminds us, “dwells all the fullness of the Godhead”! As you know, Pure Life Ministries has been discipling men into holiness and purity of heart since 1986 and we have never strayed from that mission.
The countless changed lives we have witnessed over the years are a constant reminder of how much Jesus loves sinners (Matthew 11:19) and desires to bring them into a new life in God (2 Corinthians 5:17). The vast majority of these transformations take place in our Residential Program, located at 95 Narrow Way, Williamstown, KY. It is in our counseling department that we often see much of this change take place.
I could not be happier with our counseling staff, who are constantly pouring themselves into the lives of these men. I have not known a more dedicated group of counselors than we currently have. Due to the students’ work schedules, you will often find many of these counselors in their offices well past 9:00 p.m.
In 2018, Pure Life Ministries provided over 4,500 hours of biblical counseling to the men in the Residential Program, not to mention all the impromptu emergent needs and general administrative duties each counselor logs as well. I share all this to convey a need.
Many of you like to contribute to specific needs, especially ones that impact lives on a daily basis. Once the current Main House Bathroom Project has been completed (which many of you have already contributed towards), the maintenance team will begin a much-needed facelift to the counseling department.
We intend to repaint and re-carpet the upstairs portion of the campus office building. We estimate the cost of this project to be around $6,000. Please prayerfully consider helping us accomplish this goal.
I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you what a spiritually uplifting spring and summer season we have been experiencing. Many of you are familiar with Glenn and Jessie Meldrum’s ministry. They have been dear friends of ours for 22 years now.
Glenn just wrapped up a series of four Sunday morning chapel messages on The Life of the Early Church. I can tell you that staff, students and guests alike were all blessed by his powerful preaching. We have been especially blessed to see the immediate impact in many of the students’ lives as they were challenged to repent of their sin, worldliness and apathy and to wholeheartedly devote themselves to Jesus Christ.
Many of these repentant men were baptized in a special Thursday evening service on June 6th. What a blessing it was to witness the change that has already come into their lives!
