Subject: A Special Invitation: Watch & Pray With Us

Dear Friend,

Have you ever experienced temptation that seemed too great to endure? Perhaps it occurred in a conversation where tempers flared, and it felt impossible to keep your cool. Or maybe, during a season of constant hardship or sickness, you found yourself easily grumbling and complaining as things kept going wrong. Or have you ever stumbled on an alluring internet ad, and felt that overwhelming urge to click on it and give over to sin once again?

We know God won’t allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. But in the moment, resistance can feel impossible.

What if there were a way to be proactive before temptation strikes? What if Jesus had something to say about how we can prepare for times when our emotions tell us that resisting temptation is impossible?

In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus instructed His disciples to “Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41 NASB).

Watching and waiting in God’s presence and spending time in prayer are not just good add-ons to our lives—Jesus instructs us to do it specifically so that we do not come into temptation. If you have been struggling with temptation recently, there is no better battle strategy than spending quality, consecrated time in prayer.

We have set aside two days at the end of April to watch and pray together, just as Jesus instructed us, and we want to extend one final invitation for you to join us! This special time of intentionally seeking God may be just what’s needed to help you get on track—or back on track—spiritually.

We are gathering in expectation that the Lord wants to meet with us in a fresh way, so join us in just a few short weeks. Click here to register and join us in seeking the Lord together!
