I am the face of chronic illness campaign.

Hi Friend,

I have been thinking long and hard about how to raise awareness about chronic illness and how it affects our lives.

I want to start a movement but like any movement, it needs people to get involved.

So here’s what I propose.

We all share a selfie on our social media platforms with the words: I am the face of chronic illness.

So for mine I would say in the post with my pic:

“I am the face of chronic illness.

I live with 3 chronic autoimmune conditions called Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Celiac disease and Antiphospholipid syndrome.

They can cause pain, brain and body inflammation, limited energy, autoimmune flares which make it difficult to think or function and limits what I can eat and what I can do.

Chronic illness is often invisible and while I look healthy and “normal” my illnesses are with me every day.

I am sharing this to raise awareness of chronic illness and the issues they bring.

If you have someone with chronic illness in your life, believe them, love them and support them."

You do not have to post a selfie, you can just post your sign and you do not have to list your diagnoses, just say you live with chronic illness.

I have created an event for our week of "I am the face of chronic illness" to help raise awareness of chronic illness and the impact it has on our daily lives.

It starts next Monday November 25th and ends Sunday December 1st.

I have added more information and the "how to's" for those who want to participate at the different ways you can take part.

Let's all band together and put a face to chronic illness and help raise awareness for us all.

Here is the link to the event.  I so hope you will join me!
