Hi Friend 

How's your Saturday-after the big shopping day?
I started out on fire and fizzled a bit as I looked at the cornucopia of choices available and stopped.

Then, I saw this from a friend that felt too meaningful not to share with you. It’s a reflection from death doula Diane Button — shared by Daniel Pink — and it touched me deeply. These simple truths point us back to what really matters:

1. The ordinary is everything.
At the end of life, people don’t long for accomplishments or accolades. They miss pasta around the table, messy photos, cozy nights in pajamas. The “small things” were the real treasures.

2. Count your joy.
One man kept a “joy counter” above his bed and clicked it every time he noticed a moment of delight. The more he clicked, the more he saw. Joy grows when we pay attention to it.

3. Live with a clean slate.
Say the thing. Fix the thing. Do the thing. Every moment we hold back is one we never get back. Leave nothing meaningful unsaid.

4. Kindness builds community.
In the end, we are not remembered for résumés or accomplishments. We’re remembered for casseroles, tangerines, hugs — for the love we gave freely and often.

5. Don’t miss the moments.
One person spent a lifetime building a fortune and died alone in a mansion. He missed the people inside it. Our true wealth is connection.

The takeaway is simple and powerful:
Live now.
Say what needs to be said.
Don’t wait to create a life worth remembering.

I have a feeling you already live many of these principles — but sometimes it’s good to be reminded.
