Hi Friend 

Happy Thanksgiving to you personally.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday.

Not because it’s grand or flashy, but because it brings me back to the simplest, truest place: love and gratitude.

Today, as I write this, I’m sitting beside my beloved Vici — my best friend of 80 years. When she visits, she shares my bed. And each morning she wakes up in confusion and fear, disoriented by the realities of aging, dementia, and the quiet loss of who she once knew herself to be.

This woman…

this powerful, dynamic, brilliant leader…
this lifelong sister of my heart…

is now navigating a world that makes less and less sense to her.

I know I’m already grieving her in tiny pieces.
And yet — I am profoundly grateful.

We journeyed through hundreds of thousands of dollars of personal development and business growth together over the decades.

I'm grateful for the tools we each have for self management, even though most are not accessible consciously to Vici now.

Nothing prepared her for feeling like she's slowly losing her mind,
control of bodily functions, her dignity.

She cries. Crying is a release for her...it keeps her from shutting down..
And I can’t refill her heart the way I wish I could.

I can only tend to the physical things… the food, the fire, the toilet, the blankets.
I get to love and be grateful for this time, for a lifetime of precious times.

So today, on this sacred day of gratitude, I choose to remember the lifetime of joy, of wild adventure, of shared healing, of the traumas and triumphs that shaped us.

All of it has been a gift from God.

Every season. Every chapter. Even this one.

My message to you?

Love the ones you’re with.
Love yourself even more.
And notice everything — every blessing, every breath, every moment.
