Hello My Mighty Companion,
Sometimes what we call “love” is something else—something the Course calls specialness. And specialness can look beautiful on the surface. It can sound poetic, feel intense, or even feel like devotion. But if we’re honest, it often comes with fear, control, and the quiet pressure to earn worth.
In this week’s message from A Course in Miracles Lesson 93, we’re reminded that true love doesn’t come with strings attached. It doesn’t demand performance, sacrifice, or guilt. As I shared in class, “People don’t resist love. They resist specialness masquerading as love.”
Specialness says, “I’ll love you if...”
Love says, “I love you because you are.”
Specialness keeps us locked in roles and rules. But real love—God’s Love—asks only that we remember who we are. Not that we prove it. Not that we suffer for it. Just that we allow it.
This week, we’re releasing the specialness that hurts and returning to the love that heals. You are not here to be someone’s savior—or their project. You’re here to be a mirror of peace.
So come with your heart open. Bring your longing for truth and your readiness to let go of the bargain we’ve mistaken for love.
Let’s remember together:
You are already enough. Because God created you enough.
Please note: I will not be doing a class on Sunday, July 27. I will be traveling. Please join ust again on Sunday, August 3, for more A Course in Miracles adventures.
