When we think of spiritual practice, we often picture stillness, solemn meditation, and serious self-inquiry. But what if one of the most powerful spiritual tools isn't silence, but laughter?
In this week’s A Course in Miracles review (Lesson 59), we’re reminded that divine connection isn’t solemn—it’s joyful. It tells us over and over: God goes with me wherever I go. That means you're not alone when you're in pain, and you're not alone when you're laughing so hard you can't breathe.
The ego wants us to take ourselves seriously. It says enlightenment must be earned through suffering and guilt. But Spirit says otherwise. As I shared this week, “We are going to officially authorize laughter as a spiritual practice.” Because laughter softens resistance. It lifts fear. And most of all, it reminds us that the truth is safe, and we are already home.
You don’t have to prove yourself worthy. You don’t have to analyze every fear. You just have to remember. And sometimes, remembering looks like repeating a sacred idea... and sometimes it looks like laughing at how seriously we’ve taken the illusion.
So yes—come with your questions, your doubts, your curiosity. But also bring your willingness to lighten up. The light gets in faster that way.
