Hello My Mighty Companion,
Sometimes we forget there are only two voices we can follow in life: one speaks for fear, and the other speaks for love. One is loud, anxious, and demanding. The other is quiet, steady, and always present — even when we’re not listening. While I was away visiting family last week, I wanted to share a Vintage Earl class from 2011 that brings this truth home in a way that still feels just as alive today.
“God’s Voice speaks to me all through the day.” That’s Lesson 49 in the Workbook. The Course says the Voice for God is always speaking, but most of us are just tuned into the wrong channel. Fear is loud. It’s dramatic. It’s disorganized, frantic, and full of doubt. But Love? Love is calm. Love is certain. Love doesn’t raise its voice — but it never leaves you. That part of you that’s tired, confused, overwhelmed... it’s just been listening to the wrong guide.
Later in this class, I open to Chapter 19 in the Text — The Attraction of Pain — where the Course asks us to give up one of the biggest lies we’ve ever believed: that love equals sacrifice. That we’ve got to suffer to be worthy. But Spirit doesn’t want your pain. Spirit wants your peace. And the Course defines peace as total fulfillment — not a little relief, not “someday when you’ve earned it,” but right now.
I’m back in town and ready to connect. I’ve missed being in the room with you — hearts open, truth flowing, Spirit doing what Spirit does. If you’ve been needing that reminder that you’re not alone on this path... come get filled up with us.
